Meltdown and Spectre – Why you need to know about them

At the beginning of 2018 some new vulnerabilities, called Meltdown and Spectre  were discovered which effect the majority of modern computer processors.

These vulnerabilities potentially allow programs to steal data that is currently being processed on the computer. This could be passwords, emails, photos or anything that is held within the memory of the device.

This doesn’t just affect personal computers, mobile devices and even hardware in datacentres are vulnerable.
