The Somerset Chamber of Commerce have teamed up with the Institute of Directors and the Southwest Cyber Security Cluster to bring you the following Cybercrime Breakfast briefing.

Join Somerset Chamber of Commerce for a breakfast update on the latest changes to the General Data Protection Regulations as well as top tips on how to prevent cyber threats. There will also be plenty of opportunity to network.

The speakers for this event will be, Geoff Revill and Durgan Cooper of the South West Cyber Security Cluster (SWCCC).

Geoff will start by giving an introduction to GDPR and the impact to us all over the coming years. Geoff brings a mix of deep technical cyber-systems knowledge and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) & privacy implementation comprehension to the SWCSC. Having worked to help some of the most innovative systems and software companies go to market, he now manages events co-ordination on the SWCSC steering committee. His passion is to drive towards a better, safer more personally empowering Internet. He sees a future where our personal data is no longer traded without our explicit control; the first step is to protect what is already out there.

 

Durgan Cooper is Director of Information Security at CETSAT, a managed service provider and bespoke software development house which he founded in 2001.Passionate about technology, Durgan has kept abreast of the evolving IT security threats over the past decade and now works with corporate, SME and government agencies where he advises on cyber security risk reduction. He will give an introduction to Cyber Essentials and current threat landscape.
